Title         Strike Co-Lead (Transport and Logistics)                                    

Crew reporting and liaising 

• Report to Install/Strike Lead
• Liaise with Install Lead in order to know what needs to be part of Strike
• Liaise with Strike Lead/Vols to know what needs to exit venue
• Liaise with venue to clear it and do handover
• Liaise with man w van
• Liase with transport/themecamp recipients of their gear

Role

Along with Strike Vol/Welfare Lead, get the venue cleared after the event, of participants and of any decom structures, décor etc LNT as far as possible except for trash, get stuff back into storage and back to various themecamp décor contributors, deal with lost property

Responsibilities

• Be sober(ish) at event close until  transport is complete and Strike complete- should be around 11am/midday.
• Book a man with a van for transport
• Create a Strike Transport Plan with routes and eta of arrival for deliveries
• Attend and help with strike volunteers brief of what needs to be taken down
• Allocate and send strike volunteers where to put things for transport
• Be visible go-to point for strike volunteers and themecamps
• Direct where things need to go into which piles for transport to which destination, label them if unclear
• Start a Lost property box, deal with it – decide with other strike lead who will deal with it
• Once structures and décor down, and people gone, and all that’s left is piles of stuff for transport, do handover with venue
• Get stuff delivered to the relevant drop offs as per transport plan
• Get stuff into Brixton Storage (requires a bit of 3d tetris)
• Pay the man with van

During the initial planning of the event:

At least 2 weeks before the event:

Familiarise with floor plans and themecamps

Book man with van

Liaise with Install Transport Lead to create reverse transport plan

At least one week before the event:

Co-ordinate Strike Plan with co- Strike Lead

On the day of the event:

 Not much

During event:

Have fun, don’t get too wasted, go home and nap and come back to event at 6am

After Event:

Stay awake and kick ass as per list of responsibilities above.

Person Specifications (Skills and qualifications):

• Stay awake and relatively sober till 11am/12noon, although you can go home and come back.
• Not mind the smell of old sweat and stale beer
• Be logistically minded and effcient
• Be responsible and able to do with problems confidently (like the frame is too big for the van!, some one is asleep and we can’t get something delivered, help we’re stuck in a traffic jam)
• Not mind being a bit shouty and demanding
